This statue is considered one of the oldest ones established in the premesis of Śri Ghaḥ. It is identified as from the time of the Malla Dynasty. The Lokeśvara are also Bodhisattva who took the vow to liberate sentient beings from all kinds of suffering. Their Praṇidhāna (vow/determination) was so selfless that they sacrificed their own attainment of enlightenment to stay in real for the sake of liberating the beings. The Bodhisattva vow is to commit to putting others’ welfare before one’s own and to work for the liberation of all beings from suffering.
