Kṛṣṇa

Kṛṣṇa

Kṛṣṇa is the eighth avatar of lord Viśṇu, who is known as the protector or nurterer of the entire universe in the Hindu tradition. This particular idol of Kṛṣṇa appears behind the wall of the statue of Mahāmañjuśrī. The statue must be kept by a devotee, as at some point in the history, people of Nepal followed different religious sects such as Śakta, Śaiva, Vaiśnava as well as Buddhism. However, the exact source and inscription of the statue is unknown.
