Śantipura

Śantipura

The Śantipura sits in the inner part of the Sri Ghaḥ. Six of the Ghaḥ (vessels) are sanctified inside Śantipura antipur situated at the western side of the area. These Ghaḥs are called as Śrighata, Śilaghata or Śantighata and it is likely that the area was named after them. They are the symbolic representation of goddessess Guheśvari and Bagalamukhi. The Ghaḥ are connected with auspiciousness, Tantric Ś akti, and aniconic symbol of devine power.
