About the Art

Goddess Varahi is a powerful Hindu deity and one of the Sapta Matrikas, the seven divine mothers associated with Shakti and Tantric traditions. She is depicted with the head of a boar and a human body, symbolizing her fierce and protective nature. As the shakti (feminine energy) of Lord Varaha, the boar incarnation of Vishnu, Varahi embodies strength, wisdom, and the ability to vanquish evil forces. She is often shown adorned with ornaments, holding weapons like a noose, a goad, and a skull cup, signifying her role as a warrior goddess and a protector of devotees. Worshiped in both Vaishnavite and Shakta traditions, Varahi is revered for her ability to grant courage, remove obstacles, and guide seekers on the path of spiritual transformation. Her presence in tantric rituals highlights her deep association with mystical knowledge and divine power.
