The painting illustrates Queen Maha Maya Devi having a dream, where she felt like she was being transported to lake Anotatta by Devas. In the dream, she was dressed in heavenly clothes when Swetaketu Bodhisattva in the form of a white elephant came towards her carrying a white lotus from the trunk. The white elephant came from Tushita Devloka, circled her three times, and went inside her.
