About the Art

“Mara” means obstacles or hindrance. In the path of attaining Buddhattva Siddhartha Gautam faced many hindrances that disrupted his meditation. Mara sends his daughters Rati, Arati, and Trishna so that Siddhartha would not be enlightened. Seeing this, Siddhartha took an oath not to move from the Vajrasana position until he becomes Buddha.
