Pañcamukhī Śiva, or Sadāśiva, is a metaphysical representation of Śiva with five faces, each symbolizing a fundamental aspect of cosmic function. Unlike other forms, such as Naṭarāja or Paśupati, this form is defined more by geometry than narrative.
The five faces, oriented towards the directions and named Sadyojāta, Vāmadeva, Aghora, Tatpuruṣa, and Īśāna, embody different expressions and aspects of existence.
Born in 1989, Ritesh Shahi is a dedicated paubha artist whose practice is deeply connected to the temple art traditions of the Kathmandu Valley. Since beginning his journey in 2005, he has remained rooted in traditional themes while exploring contemporary expressions and fusion styles.
