Depicting the Buddha’s victory over Māra, this work reflects the overcoming of desire, ignorance, and inner obstacles on the path to Nirvāṇa. Lok Citrakār expands the narrative through a richly detailed composition, where the Prabhāmaṇḍala becomes a field of meaning.
Within it appear the Daśa Pāramitā in anthropomorphic forms with their Bījākṣara, emphasizing enlightenment as the culmination of disciplined practice. The work frames Śākyamuni not only as victor, but as the embodiment of perfected wisdom.
Born into a lineage of traditional artists, he completed his first painting at the age of 12. Committed to preserving this ancient practice, he has created a space for learning where both theory and practical knowledge of traditional art are passed on. Though self-taught, his work continues the legacy of using mineral and natural pigments.
