About the Art

The inspiration of this painting comes from the iconographic atmosphere and vibrations of Kathmandu which the artist experienced on her first visit to Kathmandu. The name "Mystical Song" derives from the composition of sights and sound of the city's temples, the ringing of bells,  fluttering of prayer flags, chanting of mantras and playing of religious instruments as they come together to create a unique experience for anyone who visits Kathmandu.

The work uses the color viscosity technique of printmaking in which several tints of various colors are used in the same zinc plate before being printed onto paper.
