About the Art
Karuwa is one of the oldest and significant vessels used by various Nepalese communities in their household. This vessel is mostly used to keep drinking water for the purpose of cooking, drinking, cleaning. More importantly, Karuwa is also used for
ritualistic purposes. These can be plain and simple as well as with moderate to exquisite carvings.
करुवा
करुवा एक पुरानो र महत्वपूर्ण भाँडा हो जुन विभिन्न नेपाली समुदायहरूले प्रयोग गर्दछन्। यस भाँडो प्राय: खाना पकाउने, पिउने, सफा गर्ने उद्देश्यले पिउने पानी राख्न प्रयोग गरिन्छ। अझ महत्त्वपूर्ण कुरा, करुवा अनुष्ठानिक उद्देश्यका लागि पनि प्रयोग गरिन्छ। यी सादा र सरलका साथै मध्यम देखि उत्तम नक्काशीका साथ पनि हुन सक्छ।
