About the Art
The Kalacakra initiation is based on the concepts of time (Kala) and cycles (chakra). A mantra is a combination of syllables that, when chanted, provide a line between the practitioner and the divine to whom they are chanting. Kalachakra mantra consists of om ah hum hoh ham kshah ma la va ra ya hum phet and the shortened form is ham ksha ma la va ra ya. These seven symbols, along with the moon, the sun, and a flame make up the ten-fold powerful symbol, which is one of the most well-known Buddhist symbols.
