Nāsah Dya

Gouache on Canvas
68.58 x 78.74 cm
2026

This depiction of Nasah Dya anchors the collaborative installation within the ritual and iconographic foundations of traditional Newar art. Executed through the canonical language of paubhā painting, the work emphasizes precision, discipline, and devotional intentionality.

Rather than treating the deity as a symbolic image alone, Tuladhar presents Nasah Dya as a living embodiment of artistic practice itself, the divine presence invoked by musicians, dancers, and performers before the beginning of creative discipline. Through careful composition and sacred geometry, the painting reflects the continuity of lineage-based knowledge carried across generations of Newar visual culture.
