Born in 1955, Bajracharya began his career in art with portraits of political figures like Mahendra Shah, Marx, Lenin, and Nehru. Infusing the Malla-era style of art in his work, Bajracharya practiced the Paubha tradition for over five decades and is considered an innovative practitioner and master of the traditional arts.
