About the Art

Padmasambhava means the one who is born from a lotus. According to tradition, he was a native of Udyana (Swat Valley), an area famed for its magicians. Padmasambhava was a Tantrist and a member of the Yogācāra sect and taught at Nalanda, a center of Buddhist studies in India. Also named by the Tibetans as "Guru Rinpoche," the precious lord, and "Second Buddha", the Buddha of our times.
