About the Art

“Arhat” means the one who has attained enlightenment and is free from materialistic bonds and desires. The monks who are Arahat does not have to be reborn. Arahat Bakula is the 9th elder among the Sixteen Great Elders. The depiction of these Great Elders have been portrayed commonly in the Buddhist Arts. Arhat Bakula sits in the meditative position, his right hand is raised holding a pearl, and in the left hand, he carries a mongoose.

अर्हत बकुला

“अरहत” भनेको ज्ञान र भौतिकवादी बन्धन, चाहनाहरुबाट स्वतन्त्र भएको हो। भिक्षुहरू जो अरहट छन् पुनर्जन्म हुन वाट मुक्त हुन्छन। अरहट बकुला सोह्र जना ठूला जेठो भिक्षुहरूमध्ये नवौ भिक्षु हुन्। यी महान भिक्षुहरूको चित्रण बौद्ध कलामा चित्रण गरिएको पाइन्छ। अरहत बकुला ध्यानको स्थानमा बसेको, उनको दाहिने हातले मोती समातेको र देब्रे हातमा न्याउरे मुसा बोकेको पाइन्छ।
